Aiko Voigt at the Department for Meteorology and Geophysics is leading the “KlipPer” project.
Description: The central goal of KlipPer is to make the findings and data from climate modeling usable for the design and operation of a resilient PV infrastructure in Austria in a changing climate. In this one-year exploratory phase, the researchers are concentrating on the development of new methods that enable the coupling of climate models with PV yield models. In particular, the spatial and temporal scale difference between climate models on the one hand and PV yield models on the other is to be bridged by innovative extrapolation methods, the enrichment of climate model data with weather observations and the use of new km-scale high-resolution climate model data.
